We’re surprised it took her this long!

It was announced Thursday that Academy Award-winning actress Halle Berry is partnering with cosmetics giant Coty. She’s set to develop a fragrance and appear in its advertising campaign.

Berry’s line will launch in Spring 2009.

She should have her babydaddy, model Gabriel Aubry, develop a men’s fragrance too!

The mom-to-be’s line will be available in “mid-tier” department stores, like J.C. Penney, and then will move into the mass market…like Wal-Mart.

A Coty exec said they’re “committed to bringing luxury to the mass market”.

According to the source, such celebrity deals include $3 million to $5 million up front, with a royalty of about 5 percent.

Coty declined to discuss the terms of Berry’s deal.

If we were getting paid that kind of money, they could sell it wherever.
